NEBOSH National Diploma CDROM e-learning
Available in CD format (soon online), the NEBOSH Dip e-learning
Package assists delegates in meeting the requirements of the new NEBOSH
syllabus and preparing them for examination.
The NEBOSH Dip e-learning Package is designed for either the
single or multiple users with the facility for the Training Manager to
monitor user progress and achievement.
The package is divided into individual ‘Units’ then ‘Elements’ to mirror the
new NEBOSH syllabus. Each unit has its own index, which references the
syllabus content headings.
Unit A: Managing Health and Safety
Unit B: Hazardous Agents in the Workplace
Unit C: Workplace and Work Equipment
Unit D: Workplace based written assignment
Users are easily able to move between the different Diploma Units and
Elements with the aid of selection menus for easier navigation. Video
clips are included (Unit A). The active time spent in each of the parts is
timed by the program, this time is recorded in a user’s personal data file
and is accessible by the user and Training Manager so that progress can be
monitored against suggested study hours. (The software tracks your programme
of study by recording
study hours accurately - it observes when it is actually being used versus
inactive - while you are taking a break). Total study hours: approximately
472.
Core Skills Assignment Module. Included within the package to address
the ‘preparatory content’ section of the new NEBOSH syllabus - CS1 and CS2
(communication skills and training skills).
Each Unit (A, B and C) is supported by Multi-Choice Questions and
Taskwork Questions, all of which are selected at random from a bank of
questions in the program. Each question entry is marked by the program and a
score is given. Success in this section indicates personal progress and
prepares users for the NEBOSH mock examination section/s.
Hazard spotting video (Unit A only). Once you have completed all of
the Unit Elements, Unit A has an extra tab called Hazard Spotting Video, an
additional test which can be repeated as often as you like. Users enter
‘observed hazards’ and ‘suitable controls’ as part of a mini risk assessment
exercise. Once they have completed their input, users are able to see the
suggested answer and compare their own observations with the tutor version.
NEBOSH Mock Examination tests (Units A, B and C) allows users to
’sit’ a mock exam under time constraint. Users have to attempt two short
questions (each 15 minutes/Part ‘A’) and one long question from a choice of
two (30 min/Part ’B’). Once they have completed their input, users are able
to see the suggested answer and compare their own observations with the
tutor version. Practice at mock exams should help users to better manage
their time apportionment and enable success in examination. These skills are
required for successful completion of the written examination components of
the NEBOSH National Diploma assessment.
Relevant Statutory Provisions. Features all legislation
cross-referenced against the new NEBOSH syllabus.
Unit D: Application of Health and Safety Theory and Practice. A
practical assignment to test the application of knowledge and understanding
across the syllabus. Success in this Unit is essential to achieve the
Diploma award.
NEBOSH Syllabus Guide. Included within the package, the new NEBOSH
syllabus, in pdf format, on the CD.
Support manuals. Included within the package, in pdf format, on the
CD. Supports and helps you plan your programme of study. The support manuals
include: guidance on approach to learning, learning exercises, directed
private study, revision log to track progress and identify strengths and
weaknesses, mock examination papers with review and feedback, practical
assignment guidance and sample report.
All data entered in the five sections: Core Skills Assignment,
Multi-choice Questions, Taskwork Questions, Hazard Spotting Video and NEBOSH
Mock Examination (together with timings as appropriate) is recorded by the
program. The user’s personal data file (times recorded) is also
accessible by the Training Manager under password protection through the
Personal User/s History Log. A mirror image of the personal record may also
be exported direct to the support tutor to ensure the best possible delegate
progress management is provided during the support period.
The NEBOSH Dip e-learning Package is a thorough integrated
software solution offering appropriate reference material reinforced by
effective revision tests and mock examination. Supported by initial
telephone set-up, support manuals (in pdf format on CD) plus a minimum of 12
months tutor e-mail support. The software is available on a unitised basis
(Units A, B or C) or in combination (Units A, B and C). When working through
the software on a unitised basis, students should plan to take at least one
Unit examination in each six month examination period. Students may take the
Unit examinations in any order, however, we would recommend taking Unit A
first. To register for your examination contact us for assistance.
Exam tutorials are also available, plus one to one and/or group mentor
sessions for Unit D. Contact us for assistance.
