Introduction

The course is designed to notify and instruct drivers/escorts who have as their passengers wheelchair and pedestrian clients that need assistance. The course teaches drivers/escorts how to safely care for the clients and how to access the vehicles and to use the relevant vehicle fittings in an effective manner to ensure the lifting of ALL passengers, consideration is then given to leaving the vehicle under normal conditions/emergency situations.

The Course Covers

  • People handling as per the Manual Handling Regulations will be shown
  • Vehicle fittings demonstrated
  • Department of Transport guidelines
  • The Manual Handling Regulations notified
  • Kinetic Lifting and Moving
