Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations - An Overview
Introduction
From January 1st 1993 The New EC Health & Safety Regulations came into
force. Affectionately known as the 'Six-Pack', the areas covered place further legal requirements on
the employer. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment
Regulations 1992 is one of those six Regulations.
Aim
To give an appreciation of the Regulations and enable the management of the
regulations in their workplace. The course will enable the delegates to fulfill their companies obligations under the Regulations.
Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Be able to recognize the Regulations and their content and appreciate
their impact on the workplace and employees
- Know the interrelationship between the Regulations and the Health and
Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other relevant Regulations
- Be aware of simple techniques to oversee the workings of the Regulations
- Be able to appreciate the need for assessments, systems and record
keeping.
- Appreciate the need for information and training.
- Appreciate the need to keep up to date with changing methods and standards
- Have a picture of how enforcing authorities expect the Regulations to be
carried out
- Have a knowledge of the resources required to fulfill the Regulations
requirements

A certificate of attendance will be issued to all delegates that complete the
