Introduction

This course is designed to provide all personnel in a training role with supplementary information to that given in Presentation Skills and is aimed specifically at one to one and small group training situations.

Aims and Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Apply analytical techniques to the construction, delivery and evaluation of training sessions.
  • Set measurable and realistic learning objectives
  • Deliver an effective and structured training session within given constraints using available resources
  • Develop and maintain a climate to learning through inter-personal skills

The Course Covers

  • The Learning process - How, Where, When and Why people learn.
  • Course Development - Different approaches to designing and implementing a course
  • Training Sessions - Prepare and deliver training sessions for individuals and groups to meet learning objectives
  • Resource Control - Assess the practical constraints of time, cost, facilities etc.
  • Assessment and Evaluation - of training given
  • Communication - Developing rapport and maintaining a climate conductive to learning
