Introduction

This course has been developed for construction operatives to enhance their skills and knowledge of the techniques of Tiling various surfaces.

Aims

To make the delegates fully aware of the safety aspects, safety requirements and the methods of cutting, and fitting of various makes of tiles to trade standards and requirements.

• Checking background prior to rendering wall/floor
• Tools - their use and care
• Adhesives to suit background
• Vetting the area for Tiling
• Tile cutting procedures
• Make good defective area prior to Tiling
• Tiling surfaces
• Grouting
• Floor tile cutting and fitting
• Surface requirements and preparation
• Lay tiles to prepared screed floors
• Set out floor tiles to allow for faults
• Apply sealants and preformed movement joints
• Apply grout/painting materials to floor tiles
