Fork Lift Truck Train the Trainer Course

Introduction

This course is for persons who wish to train others to drive Fork Lift Trucks. Prior to training, candidates should ideally have a minimum of 6 months industrial experience of operating all types of lift trucks and have passed the applicable JCITB to operator standard.

Aims

By the end of the course candidates should be capable of:

  • Operating a Lift Truck to the standard required by the JCITB for lift truck instructors
  • Structuring training material into a logical sequence for teaching knowledge and skills
  • Adopting an effective style for teaching skills appropriate to the type of truck involved
  • Adopting an objective and critical approach towards the effectiveness of the instruction they present and an appropriate method of assessment of trainees' progress, and the setting up and testing of trainees' basic operating skills in accordance with JCITB requirements.

10 Days or 12 Days extended

Ratio

1 Instructor: 1 Lift Truck: 4 Trainees.

Please note:

  1. Trainees must be able to produce their respective lift truck operators certificate to the Centre on arrival. (To be dated within 12 months of course start date).
  2. All trainees who successfully complete the: (a) lift truck operating test to Instructor standard, and (b) written and practical instructor examinations (RTITB Registration fee) conducted by RTITB examiners will be registered by the RTITB for 5 years at the end of which a further re-registration course Is required.
  3. Type of lift truck (e.g. Counterbalance or Reach) to be specified on course application.
