Introduction
This course has been designed for maintenance staff who need the knowledge
and skills of how to recognize, test and replace components in electrical
control panels.
Aims
The aim of the course is to teach maintenance staff a basic knowledge of
electrical control panel components.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will have a working knowledge of
electrical components used in control panels.

- Relays and Solonoids - Principles and Common uses.
- Diodes and Thyristers
- Low Voltage DC Supplies - Rectification, full wave/half wave.
- Capacitors and Inductors - their roles in control circuits.
- Practical use of a Multimeter
- Practical Component recognition
- Practical Testing and Fault Finding on Demonstration Circuits
- Assessments (if required)
