Introduction

This course is aimed at Railway Signal Staff covered by the P&G arrangements who are qualified to Assistant Technician level and have relevant experience.

Aims

To train staff in the techniques of electrical signaling installation and renewal. To familiarize staff with the equipment and tools used and with the standards of work required

The Course Covers

1. Planning and Preparation including familiarization with Diagrams and Plans, Equipment Identification, Specs and Inventories.
2. Installation including Preparation of Relay Bases, Tools and Techniques for Wire and Cable Running, Stripping and Termination, Crimping and Soldering Equipment.
3. Testing including Contract Analysis Diagrams, Wire Counting, Continuity Testing by 'Buzzing', Final Checks and Adjustments and Functional Testing.

Theoretical sessions carried out in the classroom reinforced by practical tuition
