Access Equipment
Aims
There is legislation regarding Ladders, Scaffolding and Harnesses and Working
at Heights. This course will give persons attending the knowledge and the skills
to be proficient in the erection and use of such equipment. This course is ideal
for those working on Tower Scaffolding.
Objectives
By the end of the course attendees will have a broad based training in the
basic skills and techniques of using access equipment to National Standards.
The Course Covers
- Theory - related knowledge - safety - industrial legislation
- Performance criteria - plan - organize and co-ordinate own work - adopt
safe working practices
- Practical Activities - check, erect and use ladders and stepladders, erect
check and use trestle working platforms.
- Working safely on access scaffolding.
- Inspection and storage of equipment
- Theory Testing - Identifying and naming types of access scaffolding and
general components
- Test

A certificate of competence will be issued to delegates reaching the required
standard.
