Introduction
This course is for managers, supervisors, engineers and staff who may need to undertake
Confined Space entry and rescue procedures in confined spaces such as Drains, Pits, Manholes,
Chambers, Tanks etc..
Persons attending this course should
have received and passed a breathing apparatus users medical examination prior
to attendance and be physically fit as a Confined Space entry will be made.
Objectives
The following course covers practical exercises in the use of escape
breathing apparatus and self contained breathing apparatus under the control and
supervision of an instructor.

- Communications and Manning levels
- Pre-user checks & use of Escape Breathing Apparatus
- Pre-user checks & use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Pre-user checks of Rescue Harness: Tripod & Winch
- Practical use of Tripod & Winch
- Practical exercise Entering a Confined Space
- Maintenance checks - Weekly/Monthly on PPE
- Emergency & Rescue Procedures
- Practical exercise covering Escape Breathing Apparatus and Self Contained
