Power Press Regulations

Introduction

Persons operating or using a Power Press as part of their employment are required to be trained in the safe use of the equipment as lid down in the Power Press Regulations (part of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).

Objectives

To train participants in accordance with the schedule of training laid down in the Power Press Regulations.

• Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations with respect to Power Presses
• Power press mechanisms
• Safety devices
• Safety in press brakes
• Accident causes and preventative measures
• Legal requirements
• Work of the toolsetter.
• Tool design and its influence on safety
• Individual practical instruction
