IFE Fire Safety & Fire Risk Assessment & Fire Emergency Plans Part 1
Who the Course is For
This is a course designed for health & safety professionals and managers
nominated with fire safety management responsibilities and who would like keen
to develop their knowledge of fire safety and fire risk assessment fundamentals.
Course Overview
A practical introduction to fire safety in new and existing workplaces and
also fire risk assessment fundamentals and systems, fire emergency plans,
inspections and hazard reports using computer software. You will take away a
floppy disk with ‘Fire Risk Assessment’ and ‘Fire Emergency Plan’ for use in
your organisation following the course. It is Part 1 of a 2-part course. It
fulfils the academic requirements for accreditation of The Institution of Fire
Engineers Intermediate Certificate level (Technician grade TIFireE).
Learning Outcomes
After successfully attending fire safety in the workplace the
delegate will be able to:
Understand fire spread and development
Have a working knowledge of current fire legislation
Appreciate the implications on your workplace of the Building
Regulations
Carry out access assessments for fire appliances and fire fighters
Assess means of escape, fire alarm systems and portable fire fighting
equipment provision
Advise on fire problems
Work on workplace fire drawings
Fire risk assessment & fire emergency plans:
Carry out fire inspections and be aware of fire equipment testing
requirements
Understand fire risk assessment fundamentals
Select appropriate fire risk assessment systems
Carry out fire risk assessments’ inspections using course software
tailored to your organisational needs
Complete report of any significant hazards found using course
software tailored to your organisational needs to be taken away at the
end of the course
Develop a fire emergency plan
Compile fire emergency plans from course software
Certification
On successful completion the delegate will receive an IFE approved
certificate.
