Team Building Events

Introduction

Team Building has a fun element, but the main purpose is to cement the working relationships within a team to make it more effective in the business environment.

These events contain a number of activities combining skill and knowledge based training with outdoor practical activities, many of a problem solving and communication nature.

Teams will usually be a working group (but unlikely the whole department) of a size between 4 and 25 people.

These events are especially recommended for teams that are new or have recently undergone change.

Each event will be individually designed to make it suitable for all participants and to improve areas of individual job performance and to emphasize the need for team work and to foster team spirit. This is done through consultation between the team manager and the course director.

The team manager will need to have a clearly defined objective, and be involved in designing the exercises.

Objectives

To build and maintain an effective team by:

  • Promoting team identity and team spirit
  • Promoting team trust by experiencing the strengths and weaknesses of team members thereby forming team support
  • Enabling individuals to analyze themselves
  • Developing communication within the team
  • Developing skills identified as of specific need to the team by the teams manager e.g. project planning and management, presentation skills, questioning skills etc.
