Project Management for Supervisors

Introduction

As their responsibilities increase, more and more Supervisors are being empowered to take control of small to medium size projects.

Aims and Objectives

This development workshop is designed to give the Supervisor the basic knowledge to take on the role of a Project Manager. It thus concentrates on the four managerial functions of Planning, Organizing, Motivating and Controlling.

The Course Covers

  • How to define the project terms of reference
  • The importance or determining the limits of their authority
  • How to breakdown the project into stages
  • How to plan and schedule the activities involved and determine the critical path
  • The importance of communication in project management
  • How to monitor and control the project in terms of resource, time and budget

Who Should Attend

Supervisors with responsibility for managing small to medium sized projects, and who have had little or no formal training.
