Introduction

This course is designed as an advanced course for any person who has had basic training or who needs advanced MMA Welding Skills.

Objectives

To train course members in the safe use of MMA equipment and in advanced MMA welding skills.

Aims

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

• Be aware of the techniques in positional welding
• Weld in the vertical and overhead positions to an acceptable standard
• Recognize faults and causes
• Rectify faults
• Select the correct current
• Select the correct type and size of electrode

The Course Covers

• Correct safety procedures
• Correct setting of machine
• Correct electrode technique
• Correct set-up and tacking procedures
• Fillet and lap joints in the vertical and overhead position
• Single vee joint in the vertical position
• Rectification of faults
• Single and multi-run technique
• Weaving technique
• Practice to reach an acceptable standard

Course Duration

Five days (practical) plus half day theory if required.
