Introduction

This training programme has been specifically developed for craft operatives who are required to repair and maintain glazing as part of their job function.

Aims

To introduce delegates to the safe handling, cutting, fixing and storage of glass.

Types of glazing compounds
Methods of glazing wooden and metal frames
Measurement of glass
Preparation of frames, remove old putties, glass, sprigs and springs.
Priming rebates
Selecting correct thickness of glass
Measuring and cutting clear, patterned obscure and wired
Bedding and fitting glass
Correct installation of face putties
Fix glass with glazing beads
