CDM Co-ordinator - CDM in Practice
Introduction
This course addresses the roles and responsibilities of CDM Co-ordinator as
required by the CDM Regulations 2007, in particular the duty to liaise,
communicate, cooperate and coordinate with designers, principal contractors and
others on behalf of the client. Practical and theoretical experience in
techniques under the CDM Regulations is gained with an examination of competence
at the end.
Who the Course is for
This course is targeted predominantly at those who practice presently as
Planning Supervisors and wish to continue their careers as CDM Co-ordinators;
the course also offers a good awareness of responsibilities for clients,
designers, contractors.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Appreciate the significance of competence and adequacy of resourcing
issues
- Identify with the procedures for co-ordination and communication
- Understand the main requirements of the CDM regulations as they apply to
clients, designers, planning supervisors and contractors
- Determine the content and examine critically the component parts of a
safety plan
- Understand the co-ordination required of the design process
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of risk assessment as it
applies to construction particularly within the role of the designer and to
be able to coordinate and assess risk assessments provided by others
- Understand the content required and function of the health and safety
file
