Health & Safety Awareness for Supervisors and Managers
Introduction
Supervisors and Managers have significant responsibilities under present health and safety legislation. The introduction of EC directives further reinforces this responsibility. Individuals
are open to criminal prosecution if they neglect their responsibility for the safety of
others. All levels of management need to be fully aware of how this affects them.
Aims
This two day workshop which incorporates the IOSH Working Safely Certificate provides delegates with a clear insight into the key aspects of health and safety in the workplace and a full appreciation of current health and safety legislation. Thus presenting them with the means to promote a safer working environment.
Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of health & safety law and their responsibilities under relevant statutory provision.
- Identify the common causes of injury and ill health associated with their workplace and work activities.
- Undertake preventative measures to eliminate or minimize the effects of hazards and risks associated with their occupations
- Understand the importance and application of the safety organization within their company.
