This course has been designed to provide a basic insight into the general
requirements of Health Technical Memorandum 2011 as it applies to Emergency
Standby Generating Sets with particular regard to the necessary Maintenance and
Operating Procedures to be applied to be applied to ensure the reliability and
security of the emergency supply for essential services in the event of an
electrical supply failure.
The Course Covers
Health Technical Memorandum 2011- HTM 2011 is published in four volumes
covering the following aspects with regard to the Emergency and Essential
Electrical Supply Equipment in Health Care Premises:
Management Policy - This item to be discussed to provide an understanding
of the duties imposed on the Management for providing and operating an
Essential Emergency Supply.
Design Consideration - A brief discussion of this item only, as this falls
outside the scope of the course.
Validation and Verification - Beyond the scope of the course
Operational Management - This item to be discussed detailing the required
maintenance of the equipment
Record Keeping Procedures
Site Inspection of Standby Generating Systems
Identification of system components
Explanation of procedure for load and no load test runs including start
and stop procedures
