Programmable Logic Controllers - Module 3

Course Content

  • Revision of Module Two
  • Number Systems, Decimal, Binary, Octal and Hexa-decimal.
  • Micro-processor Principles, Terminology, Operation in Programmable Logic Control.
  • Addressing, Memory Map, Input and Output Addressing and Data Tables.
  • Use of Registers for Data Conversion and Mathematical or Comparison Routines
  • Biased training towards Company equipment on the above course segments
  • Data Communications used on PLC Systems, Parallel, Serial and Networks.
  • RS 232, RS 422, RS 485 and 20mA current loop.
  • Overview of networking including Token Ring and Ethernet

Format

Mixture of theoretical work in classroom environment, practical demonstration of practical techniques with course members carrying out the task under supervision and practical exercises on a PLC Controller.
